The Major Differences between
Magic Microphones and Karaoke Machine (SK-2010BGV)
1. Portability
Magic Mic means Karaoke system in the form of a microphone. It's portable. You carry it anywhere and sing anywhere!
But, because it is portable, you have to handle it carefully. It is easy to break and easy to get damaged.
2. No. of songs it plays
Songs in the Magic Mic are recorded in IC chips. Some songs are already recorded in the system. Memory of IC chips
is limited. One IC chip can hold maximum 1,000 songs and cost $139 each. Built-in songs can be about 2,000 songs.
3. Downloading songs
Some Magic Mics have a downloading capability. You can download songs through your internet, from
certain sites. But, it must be pointed out that quite a lot songs from sites are already available in the song chips.
4. Vocal songs
All songs in the Magic Mic IC chip are melody-guided, only instrumental, no vocal, no voice(nobody singing).
In the machine, out of 7,372 English songs, there are 1,912 songs recorded with voice, somebody singing.
These are called vocal songs. With these vocal songs, you can remove them anytime you like. Or, you can sing
in partner with these vocal, which means when you sing, it stops. But, once you stop singing, the voice comes back!
5. Learning a song
With the machine's vocal songs, you can follow the vocal and learn the song. No matter how many songs are there,
there bound to be certain of your favorite songs not there. Or, there are certain new songs not recorded. In that case,
because the machine is a player, you can also play the VCD or CDG discs which may have your song.
You can also play your DVD movies in the machine, too!
The Magic Mic cannot. You just have to stick to the songs in the chips.
6. Searching your song
Because there are so many songs in the machine, a huge database software program is written into the CPU of the
machine to enable you to locate a song easily and conveniently.
For the machine, you can search your song in a dictionary-like song menu on the TV screen.
You can search your song by Alphabet/Page, by the Singer of the song and by the Word (Title) of the song. Song
Search is so easy!
Because the memory capacity of the Magic Mic chip is limited, no such song search menu can be made available.
7. Favorite Song Folder, 9 of them
Your songs are not my songs! 9 Favorite Song Folders are created in the Song Menu. You can reserve your own
favorite songs in your folder. And, next time when you want to sing, you just go to your Favorite Song Folder and
all your songs are there, without going to the song book again! There are totally 9 Favorite Song Folders, each
holding 60 songs.
Such folders are not available in all the Magic Mic.
8. Pop Up Songs for your Selection
Every 2 seconds, songs reserved in your Favorite Song Folder will automatically pop up on screen to remind you
of your songs. When you see your songs you feel like singing, just press "PLAY"!
No such feature available in the Magic Mic.
9. Input Greeting Message
Because the machine is a home entertainment unit, you can write your greeting message into it. Say, you invite
your friends to a birthday party, you input beforehand, "Happy Birthday to XYZ!" in the machine and then everytime
during the interlude of the song, "Happy Birthday to XYZ!" will show up on screen.
No such feature available in Magic Mic.
10. One-touch Karaoke function
Operation of major Karaoke functions can be made either on the Remote as well as the Front Panel! Key Control,
Tempo Control, Multiplex Control, Melody ON/OFF etc are made easy, just by one touch!!
Operation of Karaoke functions is not friendly-using(one-touch) for the Magic Mic. Such one-touch direct access
to Karaoke functions is also not available in other smiliar machines in the market, too!
